The 98th Oaks Stakes took place on Friday 2nd June 1876 and was jointly won by Camelia (5/4 fav), by Macaroni out of Araucaria trained by T Cunnington, and Enguerrande (9/2), by Vermout out of Deliane trained by C Wetherall, who won in a dead heat in 2 mins 50.00 secs. The winner won £2,150 (Equivalent to £228,000 in 2017) and there were 15 runners.
